2010-10-30 Prof. Jerry Uhl, thank you for your patience, understanding, and guidance during my studies and work at the Calculus & Mathematica program at the University of Illinois. Know that your thoughtfulness and compassion have made me a better person, and your views and teachings on the world of mathematics have opened opportunities and helped form life-long friendships that I would not otherwise have had. Your spirit lives in the hearts and minds of those who have had the distinct privilege to know and work with you and learn from you. It is because of you that I persist when I encounter "unsolvable" problems. It is because of you that I think outside of the box when faced with analytical challenges. It is because of you that I can better appreciate and grasp a better understanding of math in everyday situations and help others. Thank you for these gifts and the opportunity to hold on to and treasure these moments. I am comforted by the fact that I know you are resting in peace and will be able to continue your good work and continue to inspire those around you. --DKH http://cm.math.uiuc.edu
